Well the past half a decade has flown by – we are on our wooden anniversary today already. I bought Mike a wooden tankard from a Viking in York the other week (he knows about this – he chose it) but can I find it? Can I buggery! I’m hoping I’ll have a flash of inspiration about where it is. Thing is he bought me something and it’s not arrived yet either so we are kind of a bit hopeless. I’m surprised we actually remembered. He had to work so we’ve not really done much but hoping to get a takeaway tonight when the kids are in bed. Wishful thinking – they aren’t that good at going to bed.

A lot has happened in 5 years. I was made redundant, went freelance like Mike, had an Oscar, sold our house in Walthamstow, moved in with my parents for a bit, bought a lovely house near York, had a Dylan, adopted a Klara dog, bought a family sized car….heading into midlife in style. I’m glad the longed after Motorbike hasn’t made an appearance in Mike’s life though.

I’m not one for slushy updates about how I love my husband blahdeblah. It’s kind of obvious as I married him surely? I’m always skeptical that pda’s are sometimes to prove something. All I can say is my wedding day was fab, honeymoon ace (want to revisit Fiji & New Zealand if I’m ever lucky enough to be able to again) & life pretty nice at the moment. Even if I can’t remember the last time I was drunk or even had a night out, I mustn’t grumble.

Here is my favourite wedding photo by our wonderful photographer Nicola Dixon.
